I was talking to my neighbor yesterday about this season, and he asked me who is going to win. I told him that it really depends on who is in the final two, and how bitter the jury is. Well, Dr Will had an interview with tvinsider, and he gave a little insight on how the jury is feeling. Needless to say, it’s not good news for Vanessa.
Both my neighbor and I agree that Vanessa should win hands down, but we also know how butthurt people get when they’re evicted. However, when you look at the grand scheme of the season, it will be a complete upset if she doesn’t. Not only did she win the HoH a few times for herself, but she was also puppet master for other HoH’s for most of the season. They made the moves she wanted, whether they realized it or not.
Steve may have made a decent move here and there at the end, but his game was nothing next to Vanessa. That said, even Dr. Will said during his interview that he believes Steve will probably win. Why? Because he got a taste of the jury, and they are a very bitter bunch.
If anyone should respect Vanessa’s game, it would be Dr. Will. He is one of the founding fathers of master manipulation in reality TV. If he had a vote, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that he’d respect Vanessa’s game and give her a vote, and that is even further guaranteed if she was the one who took him out. However, for him to predict Steve is extremely telling in my eyes. He got to sit there interview the jury members this season (as he’s done the past few seasons), so he has the best read of them out of anyone.
Of course, that all becomes null and void should Vanessa win the final HoH and take Liz, which is entirely possible. Sure, Liz has 2 guaranteed votes, but she needs 5. Let’s break down the possibilities…
Steve versus Vanessa – Austin trips over himself to vote for Steve. If Steve takes Van, it seems like 50/50 on Julia and Liz’s vote. Liz said she’d vote for Vanessa to win over Steve, but people say a lot of stuff. Of course, if Vanessa takes Steve, that’s guaranteed 3 votes for Steve. I believe Steve would be able to pick up an additional 2 votes out of the rest… in fact, here is how I’d see the votes going (barring any last minute changes)
- Austin – Steve
- Liz – Vanessa (if Steve takes Van)
- Julia – Vanessa (see above)
- James – Vanessa
- John – Steve
- Becky – Steve
- Shelli – Vanessa
- Jackie – Steve
- Meg – Steve
Steve either wins 5-4 or 7-2 if Vanessa backstabs Liz at the end. (I believe James and Shelli respect the game that Vanessa played)
Ugh, looking at that, Meg may also vote with James to make Vanessa the winner. . Yikes. If Steve takes Vanessa, it will be far too close to call. If Vanessa takes Steve, Steve wins.
Vanessa versus Liz – Vanessa wins. Liz will have her 2 votes, but I don’t think anyone else would really respect her game enough to give her the win. She may pick up 1, maybe 2 more votes, but I couldn’t see 5.
Steve versus Liz – Steve wins. Pretty much same thing as above, although I believe he wins with a bigger margin. Liz will have her 2 votes, that will be about it.
Liz won’t win Big Brother 17, but because she is pretty much a guaranteed 2nd place finish, it’s very possible she’ll earn $50k tonight and Steve or Vanessa get nothing. The episode begins at 9:30 est, so we’ll have to wait a bit to find out. It’s pretty exciting that there isn’t a clear cut winner, unlike seasons past.

Dr Will was the best ever…but I’m surprised he thought Vanessa would lose if she made final two. No way…She would grudgingly get respect from most.
Dr. Will was epic! I am writing this after the finale so the results have already happened. But, prior to last night when I read Dr. Will’s report, in the back of my mind I wondered if he was playing us too just to keep us guessing. I could just see him sitting there laughing afterwards knowing that he misled us. Vanessa ended up voting bitter. That shocked me.
If Steve happens to win final HOH & takes Vanessa, I will need someone to call 911 quick fast & in a hurry. Now if by some miracle Liz wins HOH, 911 won’t be able to get to me fast enough especially if she took Vanessa. I will need a padded room & electric shock therapy while being in a straight jacket if Vanessa won it.
Please Steve pull this off. Win HOH, give Vanessa the boot & win the 500k.

Also I have heard Shelli call JMac and Steve “her boys” so I would be surprised if she didn’t vote for Steve.
And do you think Austin is telling everyone in the house about how wealthy Vanessa is?? Vanessa carelessly did some bragging to him about her g******g career.
She said she gambled a bit. Never said she was wealthy. Never said she is a professional poker player who is successful. I mention this to keep the story how it really happened.This jury is not as bitter as people think now that some time has passed. Even though they will grill her no doubt. Exeption Austin on bitterness. Who will be the first one to lick her boots when he finds out that she has connections that could help his failing wrestling career. Which is hilarious because Van doesn’t realize that he is still so bitter. Austin is a donkey. A slang word for an idiot who thinks he is good and makes bad decisions the poker world. No doubt Austin will be invited to Vegas for the epic party. Reguardless if she wins or not. She will win though. 7-2 in voting. Steve will do the right thing and vote for her even though he is the bubble boy. Oh so close. Just to clear the air.
Pretty sure though that Becky and JMac would vote Van over Steve though. When she went out she didn’t seem bitter and said if she went back in she would have aligned with Van.
If James votes for Vanessa, I want to withdraw all my votes for him to win AFP!

I wish they had the final voting like they did in the old days where each jury member would vote and have an opportunity to address the final two house guests. An “airing of grievances” if you will. I believe they stopped doing this after the Jun/Allison season when it was apparent that the jury hated both of them.
I actually enjoyed this season. I hope my boy Steve kills it tonight and wins part 3 of that hoh comp. Then I hope he cuts Vanessa at the eviction. If Steve takes Van I will pass out but if Steve wins tonight I will be happy for the next 9 months.

Is it worth it? There is a $500,000 first prize. Now take away the federal tax on this amount. You now have $375,000. Then you have the almighty 13.3 percent taken out by California. Add a few more taxes by ss, etc. You walk away with just over $275,000. This is no chump change. Is it worth it? You are exposing yourself to the world. There are critic’s everywhere. No matter how you play the game. It’s only worth it if one is already famous for self promotion purposes. My two cents.

Vanessa has been reassuring Liz so much the past few days that there is no way she doesn’t drag her to the F2.
If it is Liz and Vanessa in the end that would be horrible.
If Steve does win and gives Vanessa the boot(which I totally believe he will) he will win 7-2, with Liz only getting votes from Julia and Austin.

Going out on a limb there rob. What a bold prediction. #sarcasm. It goes like this. Vanessa takes Liz and wins. Or Steve takes takes Liz and wins. You have to lean towards Vanessa for the win. Simply because of being able to perform under pressure. Steve doesn’t have this experience.
Agree. I don’t think Steve will take Vanessa to F2 anyway, but if for some strange reason he does, that’s my prediction. It will come down to Van/Liz or Steve/Liz. And you’re right, Steve under pressure is a question mark. :/
I’ve felt all along that it’s going to be a bitter jury. It seems Dr. Will must think the same way after interviewing the jury. People may not remember what was said that hurt them, but they will always remember how they felt. Sure Vanessa was instrumental in getting a lot of people out, but she failed to do it in a way that those evicted felt okay about it. She made a concerted effort to smear and do a complete character assassination on those she targeted.

You know Van has been p syching out Steve all day, all week all SEASON but I am sure she has put in extra thick in this final week. Sure would like to see Steve win and at least have some control over who he takes instead of just letting Van do the picking. Yeah I know she played great but still would like to see Steve put in a good performance. He will lose to Van in Jury but may have a shot with Liz…

Good insights Stevebeans and from Dr. Will as well. Vanessa should win with Steve taking home the 50K. Liz should be denied. Vanessa played the game throughout, carried folks with her, eliminated some, and protected one or two. Though she was controlling, confrontational, and manipulative…NO ONE took her out. With this group and all the silly house votes, it was possible many times to git-er-done. Each week Vanessa convinced those she had to sway to go a different direction, or stay the course. Given how so many houseguests felt she over-played the game, she continued to be successful. Steve deserves to be in the f2 and take home some bucks. Unlike last year the least worthy, based on game play throughout will be a victor. I will be more disappointed if Steve ends up in third position, than Vanessa. She controls her own destiny and if she doesn’t win HOH, than she should be denied f2.
Tonight’s the night! Thank you to all of the members on this site for another season having somewhere to share my guilty pleasure of BB. Thank you SteveBeans for once again keeping us updated. Although I’m glad it’s coming to an end, I know I will also be going through withdraw from not checking this site 50xs per day. Until next season, everyone take care!!
