Two weeks ago, Brittany was on the block and things were not looking good for her at all. She was the main target of the week by head of household Devin, and there were no signs of any hope for the mom of 3 (or 10 according to Caleb) until she was able to tug at his sensitive side and pulled a power move before the veto competition. Devin removed her from the block, and she was safe to live another day.
Fast forward to this week, and Brittany finds herself in a similar situation. On the block and the main target by the house. She had already lost the battle of the block competition, so it was down to one competition to save Brittany’s Big Brother summer – the power of veto.
Shortly before the competition, Brittany thought she actually found herself an ally in the game when she found a pouting Caleb outside alone. He was upset about Amber (hold your surprise and read more of that weirdness here), so Brittany spoke to him a bit and actually sort of convinced Caleb it was a good idea to keep her in the house. I’m not exactly sure Caleb was in the right frame of mind after walking in on Amber and Cody being very close in the HoH room, but Brittany took his word for it and even selected him as the houseguest’s choice for the veto competition. Things were finally looking around for Brittany – or were they?
The veto competition was a World Cup theme, because we haven’t heard enough about the World Cup over the past month. The six players (Cody, Victoria, Brittany, Zach, Nicole and Caleb) were to put a soccer ball in this contraption that kicks it into a huge net with sections/scores (think of a carnival game). Every round, the lowest score was eliminated, and they were to take their prize from the trophies. Seeing as this is Big Brother, they could keep their prizes as long as nobody who won in later rounds wanted them.
Round 1 –
Cody was eliminated first, and naturally his 6th place prize was the power of veto (knowing full well he has 0 chance of keeping it, they give it to 6th place)
Round 2 –
Brittany was the second person eliminated, and won ‘Penalty Kick’. This is a punishment where the player gets kicked in the butt 10x every time a whistle blows for a full day. Naturally, Brittany took the Veto from Cody.
Round 3 –
Zach Attack become the third person eliminated and won… a trip to Germany! Seeing as he was in no real danger of being a replacement nominee, he kept his prize and offered any ladies out there a free trip to Germany with him.
Round 4 –
Nicole was the fourth eliminated and won the punishment ‘Goal Oriented’. The player would have to kick a soccer ball into a net 2,400 times in a 24 hour period. There is no way she was going to keep that, so she took the trip to Germany! Oh wait, she didn’t. For some reason she took the power of veto from Brittany while knowing Victoria was guaranteed to take it from her. Maybe Nicole doesn’t like to fly?
Round 5 –
Victoria became the fifth player eliminated and won $5,000. Considering Victoria is on the block, she decided it would be a better idea to take the Power of Veto from Nicole making the current prizes look like this…
Cody – Kick to butt
Brittany – Penalty Kicks
Zach – Germany Trip
Nicole – $5k
Victoria – Power of Veto
Caleb was the last person standing, so he had the choice of any prize, or to keep what was in his trophy. That reward was a germitard (German unitard). Sadly, Caleb did not want to wear a unitard for a week, so he was going to trade it out. What would he choose? Germany? Money? or Power?
Being the team player Caleb is, he swapped prizes with Nicole and will go home with an extra $5k in his pocket. This had everyone scratching their heads because it forced Cody to nominate someone else, and Caleb essentially gave up immunity for the week for $5k. Very shocking move as the guy who was making the nominations was the same guy who feels threatened by Caleb’s obsession over Amber. Would this bite him in the butt? Would this go down as one of the worst moves in Big Brother history?
No, not this season. Not this group.
I hate to compare the shows, but if this were Survivor and a super strong player like Caleb handed over immunity for $5k, he would be the next person going home. Despite some back and forth last minute decisions by Cody, the big renominee after Victoria saved herself was – Donny! Yes, Donny. Donny. I have to say it one more time – Donny.
Cody had a chance to get out a strong competitive player who is extremely jealous of the friendship he has with Amber, but instead, he went with the house choice to use Donny as a pawn so Brittany will go home this week. The season of questionable moves continues and one of the least threatening people in the house will go home on Thursday evening. What a weird season it’s been.
I did think that BB should have taken Frankie aside and told him the news once they made the decision to notify him of his grandfathers passing. It definitely shouldn’t have been a whole house thing. That being said, for Frankie’s part, I genuinely feel bad for him. I never heard him say or saw him act as though this was a huge surprise or something he wasn’t aware could happen. Regardless of how sick someone is or how much you may know that they are going to pass, it still hurts, no matter what. I am sure he knew going into this that this MAY happen, but still chose to go, and I am sure he’s fine with his decision. I saw on TMZ that Ariana didn’t want to tell him about it at all. Apparently, CBS made the decision?
after last season and the way this season is going I have just about given up on this show. I am so tired of the house being full of lemmings and cbs thinking his is what we want to watch. someone please grow a backbone and start playing the game the way it was intended.
I know its frustrating and boring. Don’t you just wanna yell every time they talk about not getting blood on their hands or not making waves and voting as a group. Bleh. On a funny note I just read an article on yahoo that said the cast was so great and interesting this year. lol

Dan – remember him saying – GF got to see his sister on Ellen – the Billboard awards etc etc – then he mentions that his sister was his favorite (not a lot just a little more) – then saying GF didn’t understand the show (BB) but he watched all the time even the live feeds — no matter how cunning one thinks they are if they talk long enough their true character will reveal itself – in this case he was attempting to one up his sister – or try to prove he was at least her equal – he also mentions he was the rock for the family during his aunts death – and he repeats this to various house guests durng the show – this is the quality of a person attempting to validate themselves to their peers.

BBAD should have been retitled the Frankie show. My condolences to him and his family, however that was a bad move on BB part. Either Frankie should not have been told or he should have been pulled from the show. He already gets way too many passes. No Have Not because of ‘illness’. Hog wash! Same goes with Christine’s food allergies. If you can’t play the game, stay home. He is a rat, weasel, tattle tale who expects/demands constant validation. Zach: no matter what is going on he has to be the center of attention. Loud, obnoxious, jumping around. I have an 11 year old grandson who is more mature.
AGREE totally about Zach. I have never in my life seen an “adult” act like he does. I wonder if he even has a semi grown up bone in his body.

All sympathies to Frankie for his loss but I fear this will have an undue effect on the game. The game has already been changed and player’s future decisions will be changed by this news.
Frankie can only have a pic of his Grandfather if he wins HoH again. Others have already started saying they will throw the comp to him so this can happen. What if bighearted Donny decides to do this? It could be devastating to his game considering his name has come out of Frankies mouth. Conversely what if it comes down to Frankie and Donny in the HoH and Donny refuses to give up and this earns him the anger of the other house guests? And only because of the passing of Frankies Grandfather. Frankie was also given a 20 some minute, uninterrupted by commercial, soliloquy on BBAD that, while understandable and touching, is sure to earn him sympathy votes in any online voting.
I am in no way suggesting that this is happening now but remember the Survivor season where someone gamed the sympathy card? When they got the visit from friend’s and family one contestant had arranged for his visitor (brother or friend I think) to bring false news of a family tragedy of some sort. He did not win the luxury comp for time with his visitor but I seem to remember he was chosen by the winner to share in the prize – a decision that would have been different without the fake news. And god-forbid but what if another house guest has a mentally unbalanced relative who sees the sympathy boost this give Frankie and decides to commit suicide in hopes of generating a like sympathy boost for their relative?
This is clearly new territory and there will probably be more explicit rules governing this occurrence for future seasons. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I will say now that if Frankie does win it all there will be those who want an asterisk next to his name in the record books because of this event.
I think the family should have been told that if they wanted Frankie to get the news he would have to be pulled from the game with NO PENALTY. He would keep all stipend earned, he would still be in the running for fan favorite and he should be immediately given a key for next summer’s game. Perhaps future house guests will have to provide a list of people they would want to be told about if anything catastrophic happened to them and they would have to leave the game under the above conditions. Part of this game is limited contact with the outside world, dealing with that deprivation and all players know this going in to it.
BB should at least give him one pic of his grandfather now so the HoH is not connected to that.

I would still like to hear an explaination by BB why he was given the news – and why they didn’t stipulate that it would be kept secret to the rest of the house. He knew when he entered the house that his Grandfather was on deaths door – that did not stop him – saying that BB should have stipulated before he entered the house he would not be notified should his GF pass – and then make a decision – enter with that rule or go home to be with his Dying GF – this was not fair to the other HG’s.
One more thing – after watching and hearing – Frankie on BB16 have you any doubt which one he would have chosen – that should be all you need to figure out his character.
It is a longshot but I can imagine someone saying Frankie will regret not being with his family at this time and he should be evicted so that he can be with them. No telling which way the knife will cut but it should not have been let in to the game at all.

Yes…Frankie’s GF had terminal cancer. If he was so concerned about his health he never would have gone in the first place. The Grande family is a very wealthy family, so I wouldn’t think the money would mean as much to Frankie as to some of the other HG’s. I think he loves the attention and fame, just like his sister. They seem like a close family, maybe with some priorities screwed up??
And, BTW, I think the whole Team America thing is stupid. Couldn’t vote for either choice last night – they were both ridiculous and could have an effect on the game.

Watching Frankie talk about his grandfather on BBAD…wow. I saw a few photos out there and he looks just like him. It’s sweet to see Frankie being real. Also nice of BB to let him talk through it to the camera without interruption. He mentions wanting to use the money to help kids/education. Seems very sincere.
I think Frankie was being extremely fake. I know if my grandfather died I wouldn’t be having an interview from the HOH room like it’s one of his YouTube videos or something. He hardly showed any emotions and excessively admitted the fame of his famous sister almost like he wanted the other house guest to over hear him. Now, no one in the house is ever going to put him up on the block because he’s the guy whose grandfather just died. He’s also the person who can’t be a have not out east slop. A lot of advantages in BB16 for Frankie. Quick CBS, had him the 500k. (Rolling my eyes)

I actually feel sorry for Amber. Seems both Caleb and Cody are stalking her. Cody just isn’t as creepy about it. Last night Amber and Nicole were talking and Cody was like a 10 yr old – poking and pinching her. She must have said a dozen times “Cody, knock it off,” but he just kept on.

I don’t mind Survivor comparisons and the way they edit BB is kinda the same way. They make it look like something is going to happen then Cody makes his replacement nominee and it didn’t.
I am not sure how much more I can take of the Caleb/Amber weirdness. I didn’t look at the clock but it seemed like 15 mins of just that. And watching Brittany, I applaud her strong spirit, it was just hard to watch. My husband asked me why everyone hates her and I get she may be self absorbed and is not a good social player but the same can be said about a few.
